This two-hour program will cover working with persons with disabilities and with interpreters. Pamela  Hoopes, Deputy Director/Legal Director  and  Justin  Page,  staff attorney, Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid/Minnesota Disability Law Center, will discuss attorneys' responsibilities, roles, and opportunities when working with persons with disabilities. They will also address contemporary legal issues, including requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act, service/comfort animals, personal care attendants, and nuisance lawsuit issues. Polly Ryan,  Program Coordinator for Court Interpreter Program in the State Court Administrator's Office, will discuss legal requirements and professional courtesies in using and communicating through interpreters in legal work and judicial proceedings. This Office will apply for 2.0 Elimination of Bias credits for this program. There is no pre-registration or charge for this May 9 program

You may bring your own coffee or food, as none will be provided for the seminar.  There is a cafeteria in the lobby of the Elmer Andersen Building.
