Who We Are


The Minnesota County Attorneys Association is an independent, voluntary organization of County Attorneys dedicated to improving the quality of justice in the State of Minnesota. The Association is a not-for-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors elected annually by the membership.

The members of the Association are dedicated to the accomplishment of this Mission by developing consensus on legal and public policy issues of statewide significance to County Attorneys. The Mission will be implemented competently and professionally while adhering to the highest ethical standards of the legal profession.

Prescription drug abuse is a growing problem in Minnesota as well as nationally. To advance the understanding of the multifaceted nature of this issue and the extent to which it is a concern in Minnesota, the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Divison of the Department of Human Services together with the State Drug Policy Office are hosting an educational event.

Despite being one of 19 states which experienced a drop in its prison population during the last year, new data released this month by the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) shows Minnesota has endured the second largest growth of prisoners in state and federal correctional facilities across the nation this decade.
