This course will help prepare law enforcement (patrol officers and DREs) and prosecutors to handle the complexity of drugged driving trials. Convictions for drugged driving begins with a solid arrest, but hinge on preparation for trial and quality, expert testimony. This course will cover the Drug Recognition Evaluator process, the seven drug categories, applicable statutes, case law, qualifying officers for testimony, and visual aids in the courtroom.

Convictions for drugged driving begins with a solid arrest, but hinge on preparation for trial and quality, expert testimony. This course will cover the Drug Recognition Evaluator process, the seven drug categories, applicable statutes, case law, qualifying officers for testimony, visual aids in the courtroom, and provide tips that will lead to successful prosecutions. Attendees will have the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice with mock testimony exercises.

Approval for POST and CLE credits is in process. This course will provide eight credits.
