Assistant Douglas County Attorney Michelle Clark Appointed to Fill 7th Judicial District Vacancy

Governor Dayton Appoints Michelle L. Clark and Antoinette C. Wetzel to Fill Seventh Judicial District Vacancies

ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Mark Dayton today announced the appointments of Michelle L. Clark and Antoinette C. Wetzel as District Court Judges in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District. Ms. Clark will be replacing the Honorable Ann L. Carrott, and will be chambered at Alexandria in Douglas County. Ms. Wetzel will be replacing the Honorable Douglas P. Anderson, and will be chambered at Little Falls in Morrison County.

“Ms. Michelle L. Clark and Ms. Antoinette C. Wetzel have demonstrated their deep knowledge of the law, and their commitment to public service, throughout their distinguished careers,” said Governor Mark Dayton. “I thank them for continuing their service to Minnesotans, as District Court Judges in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District.”

Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District consists of Becker, Benton, Clay, Douglas, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Otter Tail, Stearns, Todd, and Wadena Counties.

About Michelle L. Clark
Ms. Clark is an Assistant Douglas County Attorney, where she handles gross misdemeanor and felony cases. Previously, she was an attorney at Tillitt, McCarten, Johnson & Haseman Ltd., and a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Thomas M. Stringer. She earned her B.A. from St. Cloud State University and her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.

Ms. Clark serves on the Domestic Violence Taskforce, the Douglas County Coalition on Mental Health, and the Legal Office Advisory Committee at Alexandria Technical and Community College. Ms. Clark is also a lifetime member of the Wadena Chapter of the VFW Auxiliary and the President of the Douglas County Law Library Board.

About Antoinette C. Wetzel
Ms. Wetzel is an attorney at Wetzel Law Firm L.F., P.A., where she is a general practitioner, handling civil, family, juvenile, and criminal matters. Additionally, Ms. Wetzel is a qualified neutral mediator and serves as the City Attorney for the cities of Royalton and Little Falls, prosecuting ordinance violations. Previously, she was a Guardian ad Litem and Custody Evaluator in Crow Wing County and a Correctional Officer with Morrison County. She earned her B.A. from St. Cloud State University and her J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

Ms. Wetzel is a member of the Pinnacle Hunting Club, the Little Falls Chamber of Commerce, the Morrison County Historical Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 46.  A headshot of Ms. Wetzel is attached.
