What is a TSRP?

In 2007, The Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor (TSRP) position was created in Minnesota with the goal of improving traffic safety by improving criminal prosecution. The position is funded through a grant from the Federal Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and represents a national effort by NHTSA.

The duties of the TSRP include: 

• Training prosecutors in the area of traffic safety
• Acting as a resource for prosecutors
• Providing a communication network for prosecutors
• Serving as a liaison between prosecutors and other organizations in the state
• Serving as a liaison between Minnesota's prosecutors, NHTSA and other national organizations
